As qualified counsellors and psychotherapists, we go through years of costly training and supervision to ensure we are ethically and psychologically equipped to support clients effectively. However, in my experience (and as validated by many colleagues) most training organisations offer very little guidance on how to set yourself up in private practice, and next to no mentoring on how to actually run your practice as a sustainable business.

 I started my practice feeling completely alone, with no idea where to start and no-one to ask questions or check if I was ‘doing it right’. However, over 18 months, having used my marketing background to my advantage, I was in a position where I could quit my corporate job having grown an established private practice with a waiting list. I attribute my success to realising early on the importance of separating out my ‘therapist role’ from my ‘business head’, investing time and energy into behind-the-scenes planning, practicalities and promoting my services. However, I wish that I had had someone already set up that I could consult with and generally feel supported by.

 I am now in a privileged position where I earn 3 times more than I did in my corporate job; I work with clients and organisations that align with my values and have created a practice that provides me both with flexibility and fulfilment. I want to support you to have the same…

Mentorship is perfect for you if:

  • You are a therapist nearly/newly qualified or already qualified (Diploma level)
  • You want to build a sustainable private practice as your primary income
  • You are ready to go but don’t know where to start; or are already set up in PP but aren’t getting clients
